About the Author
Edgar Allan Poe was born in 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts, but was educated in the United Kingdom. He is regarded as one of America's finest literary figures. Best known for his poetry, such as "The Raven" and his short stories, Poe is also considered to be the trailblazer of the detective fiction genre, after writing The Murders in the Rue Morgue.
