• A pioneer of scenography – its projects and methods • Current trends in museum and exhibition design • More than 825 photos, graphics, sketches and plans “Scenography – Making spaces talk” is a handbook on scenography edited by a pioneer of scenography. Guided by its philosophy “form follows content”, Atelier Brückner sees its mission as the consistent generation of spatial concepts from the content they are engaged to present – and they have been awarded many prizes for the work they have done. This book is an introduction to the history, contents, methods, instruments and making processes of this relatively young design discipline. At the same time, the book shows more than 60 international projects of Atelier Brückner, spanning the time from 2002 to 2010. It presents concepts for permanent exhibitions such as the LWL-Museum for Archaeology in Herne, architecture created for the BMW Museum in Munich or the Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt, artistic multimedia installations such as the “Viv(r)e les fronti?res” pavilion at Swiss Expo.02 or media architecture for the African Pavilion at Expo 2008 in Saragossa and the State Grid Pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai. Atelier Brückner in Stuttgart was established in 1997 by architect and stage designer Uwe R. Brückner and architect Shirin Frangoul-Brückner. Today, it is run by them together with architect Eberhard Schlag. With more than 70 employees, it is now one of the world’s leading ateliers for exhibition design and scenography. Uwe R. Brückner and Eberhard Schlag also teach scenography and environmental communication at the University of Arts in Basel, Switzerland and the University of Applied Sciences in Constance, Germany.
