Moby Dick
This deluxe edition presents Herman Melville's classic nautical adventure novel, Moby Dick, in a striking hardback edition with gold cover accents and printed page edges.
Described by D. H. Lawrence as "the greatest book of the sea ever written" and now heralded as a classic of American literature, Moby Dick tells the story of sailer Ishmael who signs up for a voyage aboard the Pequod, bound for the tropics. But what Ishmael believes to be an ordinary whale hunt turns out to be nothing less than a voyage of revenge led by the imposing "ungodly, god-like" Captain Ahab. For Ahab has already lost one of his legs to the great White Whale, Moby Dick. And this time, driven by a tremendous inner rage, he is determined to pursue him to the death.
Part of the Arcturus Treasured Classics series, this beautiful gift edition provides an exquisite way to enjoy this classic work.

About the Author
Herman Melville (1819-91) was the son of a merchant, and was born in New York. Melville first trained as a teacher before signing on as a sailor on a merchant ship in 1839. He drew on his experiences of working a whaling ship for the background for Moby Dick and also on his adventures in Polynesia for some of his other novels, such as Typee and Omoo. He was a friend of many other writers of the time, such as Nathaniel Hawthorne, to whom he dedicated Moby Dick.
